Riyadh: The Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCA) foiled an attempt to smuggle 17.6 kilograms of the narcotic substance methamphetamine, known as "shabu," which was found hidden inside a vehicle entering the Kingdom at the Rub Al Khali (Empty Quarter) border crossing. According to Saudi Press Agency, ZATCA said that two individuals were arrested, and it coordinated with the General Directorate of Narcotics Control (GDNC) to ensure the arrest of the intended recipients of the drugs. ZATCA affirmed its commitment to tightening customs control over the Kingdom's imports and exports to safeguard society from such dangers, in ongoing cooperation with GDNC. ZATCA urged the public to contribute to combating smuggling in order to protect society and the national economy by contacting it through the designated security reporting number (1910), via email at 1910@zatca.gov.sa, or through the international number (+9661910).
