Jeddah: A two-day workshop titled "International Humanitarian Law and the National and International Organizations Concerned with It" was held in Jeddah. This event was a collaborative effort involving the Standing Committee of International Humanitarian Law, the International Committee of the Red Cross, and Dar Al-Hekma University.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the workshop was part of the Kingdom's initiative to enhance awareness of International Humanitarian Law. It aimed to emphasize the significance of such laws in safeguarding human beings and alleviating the suffering of civilians during armed conflicts.
The workshop's first day included discussions on the fundamental principles and the historical development of International Humanitarian Law. On the second day, participants focused on the standing committee's initiatives in spreading knowledge, developing educational curricula, and establishing partnerships with both academic and international institutions.
The event witnessed a significant turnout, with active participation from faculty and students of Dar Al-Hekma University. Their involvement added both academic and practical insights to the sessions.
