UN Secretary-General Commends Saudi and French Leadership on Palestine Conference

Riyadh: UN Secretary-General Ant³nio Guterres: has praised Saudi Arabia and France for their leadership in co-chairing the High-level International Conference aimed at achieving a peaceful settlement of the Palestinian question and the implementation of the Two-State Solution. During a recent UN Security Council meeting focused on the Middle East, Guterres highlighted that the collaborative efforts of Saudi Arabia and France have revitalized international political momentum regarding the Palestinian issue.

According to Saudi Press Agency, Guterres underscored that attaining a just and lasting peace necessitates a unified commitment to international law and diplomatic engagement. He warned that the prospects for a two-state solution are diminishing at an alarming rate, primarily due to ongoing settlement activities, de facto annexations, and forced displacements. Guterres depicted the current Israeli-Palestinian conflict as experiencing one of its most challenging phases, aggravated by a deteriorating humanitarian crisis in Gaza.

The UN Secretary-General called for an immediate and enduring ceasefire, the unconditional release of all hostages, and the urgent and unrestricted flow of humanitarian aid. He concluded by emphasizing that the persistent neglect of UN resolutions and international humanitarian law undermines the credibility of the international community and poses a significant threat to global stability and peace.
