SRCA wins the Middle East Award for Government Excellence and Smart Cities

Riyadh, The Dubai-based Middle East Excellence Awards Institute has announced the winning of the Saudi Red Crescent Authority (SRCA) of the Institute’s 27th Award for Excellence in Government and Smart Cities, Smart Healthcare Services Excellence Branch, in recognition of the authority's achievements and practices in smart institutional transformation.

SRCA spokesman, Abdulaziz Al-Suwayni, said that the award comes in appreciation of the authority's efforts in developing its ambulance services and linking them with modern smart technologies, especially its efforts in launching the electronic paramedic application (the ambulance transport record platform), adding that the platform aims to receive reports from its field paramedic teams and route them through the maps. It also contains essential patient data, clinical tests, and therapeutic interventions, which greatly help the paramedics in dealing with the cases they respond to.

Al-Suwaina pointed out that the number of electronic reports created through the platform in 2021 amounted to more than 759,000 emergency reports, and more than 7,000 paramedics benefited from its services, by linking with 232 hospitals in various regions of the Kingdom.

For his part, SRCA President, Dr. Jalal bin Mohammed Al-Owaisi, attributed the award to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and HRH the Crown Prince, for their continuous support to the Authority, as a manifestation of their constant keenness to improve health services given to citizens and residents, and the Minister of Health for his efforts to achieve smart institutional transformation within the health sector system.

Al-Owaisi expressed appreciation to SRCA staff for setting up and implementing the platform, noting that this service is one of the initiatives of the National Transformation Program 2020, and aims to raise the quality of medical services through the use of the latest advanced electronic systems, to manage field medical services, and increase response time, and raising the quality.

The Dubai-based Middle East Excellence Awards Institute is an institution that aims to develop knowledge and expertise and consolidate the foundations of excellence and competitiveness in institutions and their leaders at the regional and international levels, by highlighting the achievements and honoring the best practices characterized by excellence and innovation, in the public sectors and smart cities.
