SDRPY Contributes to Developing Capacities of Yemeni Government Institutions

Sana'a: The Saudi Development and Reconstruction Program for Yemen (SDRPY) plays a key role in building government capacities and improving skills at institutional, technical, and community levels through knowledge transfer and the development of administrative and technical competencies in vital sectors, with the goal of fostering stability and stimulating economic growth in Yemen.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the SDRPY focuses on supporting the capacities of Yemeni government institutions to help them provide services efficiently and effectively to the Yemeni people. It aims to enhance the infrastructure and efficiency of these institutions, creating an environment conducive to effective task management while supporting security and stability.

Yemeni government institutions have participated in workshops and programs to enhance their capacities in collaboration with relevant local, regional, and international entities. Among these initiatives is the Capacity Building Program, which supports Yemeni government institutions in identifying their needs, assessing their capacities, and carrying out their core tasks while adapting to the different circumstances they face.

As part of the SDRPY's ongoing efforts to strengthen government institutions, notable initiatives include the comprehensive Capacity Building Program launched in mid-2021 to support the Yemeni Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation and the Ministry of Finance. Additionally, a workshop held in November 2022 focused on developing the capacities of Yemeni institutions, reinforcing the program's commitment to supporting multiple sectors in Yemen.

The SDRPY has provided 264 projects and initiatives across eight essential sectors: education, health, transportation, energy, water, agriculture, fisheries, and development, benefiting various Yemeni governorates.
