Riyadh—Saudia Arabian Airlines is set to host the 56th Annual General Meeting of the Arab Air Carriers’ Organization (AACO) in Riyadh, running from October 30 to November 1, 2023. The meeting will be focused on discussing the aviation industry’s progress in the areas of sustainability and digital transformation.

According to a new release by Saudi Press Agency, the gathering will be overseen by Engr. Ibrahim bin Abdulrahman Al-Omar, the Director General of Saudia Group and the Chairman of the AACO’s Executive Committee. The event will witness participation from CEOs of Arab airlines, aviation experts, manufacturers, solution providers, and regional and international organizations specializing in civil aviation.

The airline has finished all preparations for hosting this meeting for the sixth time since its AACO membership and for the first time in Riyadh. The opening ceremony is slated to take place in Al Diriyah Governorate and will be attended by high-level officials and company leaders from both local and Arab aviation enterprises.

The conference is designed to address two primary themes: sustainability, with a focus on the critical actions needed for achieving a future of net-zero carbon emissions; and digital transformation, which will cover the importance of optimizing initiatives to enhance customer relations and integrate digital solutions throughout all stages of the travel experience. Abdul Wahab Teffaha, the AACO Secretary General, will also deliver a report on the “State of the Industry.”

Furthermore, a panel comprising multiple CEOs will discuss strategic challenges facing the air transport industry. An exclusive session will also be organized for AACO members to discuss administrative, financial, and strategic matters concerning AACO operations, the release added.
