Saudi Arabia Leads Discussions on Housing and Urban Development at Arab Ministers Council Meeting

RIYADH: The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, represented by the Ministry of Municipalities and Housing, today chaired the 89th meeting of the Executive Office of Council of Arab Housing and Reconstruction Ministers. This significant meeting, hosted by the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States, saw the participation of Arab ministers and their representatives from the office member states, focusing on key urban development agendas. According to Saudi Press Agency, the meeting served as a platform for discussing several critical topics. Among the primary agendas were the follow-up on the Arab Strategy for Housing and Sustainable Urban Development, the New Urban Agenda, and the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. These discussions are aimed at enhancing regional cooperation and alignment with global sustainable development goals. The meeting also emphasized the importance of cooperation with various Arab, regional, and international organizations, alongside Arab federations, as part of the council's wo rk program set for completion by 2025. This collaborative approach is expected to foster significant strides in the region's housing and urban development sectors, aligning them more closely with international standards and practices.
