Riyadh Book Fair’s Discounted Section Becomes Buzzing Hotspot for Readers

Riyadh: The discounted book section at the Riyadh International Book Fair 2025 has quickly become one of the most vibrant and bustling areas of the fair. Launched by the Publishing Association with support from the Literature, Publishing, and Translation Commission, this unique initiative aims to make books more accessible to the public and encourage a broader reading culture.

According to Saudi Press Agency, "This is our first initiative of this kind," said CEO of the Publishing Association Ashwaq Bin Rasheed. "With the backing of the commission, we've brought together more than 13 publishing houses in one pavilion to offer books at affordable prices." She underscored that the goal isn't just about sales, but about supporting Saudi publishing houses, helping readers easily access books and ensuring the survival of printed literature in the face of rapid digital transformation.

This initiative is part of the broader cultural momentum at the Riyadh International Book Fair. Visitor numbers have surged by 40% since the fair's opening, daily sales have increased by 38%, and over 40 agreements have already been signed in the business area. These figures highlight how the fair is fostering both cultural and economic growth.
