Riyadh Book Fair Hosts Workshop on Children’s Writing Techniques

Riyadh: The Riyadh International Book Fair 2025, organized by the Literature, Publishing, and Translation Commission, recently hosted a workshop titled "Creative Writing for Children."

According to Saudi Press Agency, the workshop emphasized the significance of creativity in writing for children and highlighted the necessity of training writers to convert educational concepts into engaging narratives. These narratives aim to develop imagination and stimulate critical thinking in young children. The session underscored that modern children engage with intelligent texts that encourage questioning and discovery.

The workshop also covered the art of narrative rhythm, focusing on the timing of scene transitions and methods to maintain a rhythm that keeps children eagerly turning pages. It highlighted that young readers today are more aware and attentive, necessitating writers to offer content that balances enjoyment and knowledge, aligning with their intellectual capabilities.
