Ninth Session of Saudi-New Zealand Joint Committee Concludes with Key Agreements

Auckland: The ninth session of the Saudi-New Zealand Joint Committee concluded today in Auckland, New Zealand. The Saudi delegation was led by Minister of Environment, Water and Agriculture Abdulrahman Alfadley, while the New Zealand side was headed by Minister of Trade and Investment Todd McClay, with the participation of official delegates from both countries.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the two sides agreed to activate mechanisms that fulfill the objectives of the General Agreement on Economic and Cultural Cooperation between Saudi Arabia and New Zealand. They committed to facilitating and enhancing trade and bilateral relations across all sectors, exchanging expertise, and fostering a favorable commercial and investment environment. This includes increasing business meetings and visits, boosting trade volume and economic cooperation, enhancing investment flows, and strengthening communication between the private sectors.

Both sides also agreed to expand areas of cooperation in fields of mutual interest. The trade volume between the Kingdom and New Zealand reached $881 million in 2023, reflecting a 25% growth since 2019.
