Madinah: The Saudi Red Crescent Authority's Madinah branch has reported handling over 8,000 emergency cases since the beginning of Ramadan 1446 AH.
According to Saudi Press Agency, figures released by the branch on Saturday indicate that a total of 26,385 calls were received, resulting in 8,411 ambulance responses. Out of these, 2,177 patients received on-site treatment, while 2,489 were transported to medical facilities after receiving emergency medical care. The cases reported included medical emergencies, accidents, and instances of loss of consciousness.
During the second quarter of Ramadan, the branch successfully mobilized 4,551 volunteers. These volunteers collectively contributed 26,481 hours of emergency service at key locations such as the Prophet's Mosque and Quba Mosque.
Emergency services in the region can be accessed through the 997 hotline and the 'Asefne' mobile application. The application offers features like location tracking, distress call functionality, and information on nearby health facilities and emergency resources.
