GCC Secretary General Meets with EU Special Representative for Gulf Region

Dubai: Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Jasem Albudaiwi met with European Union (EU) Special Representative for the Gulf region Luigi Di Maio today in Dubai on the sidelines of the World Governments Summit 2025. During the meeting, they discussed various topics, focusing primarily on following up on the outcomes of the joint statement from the first summit between the GCC states and EU member countries' heads of state and government, held in October 2024 in Brussels under the title "Strategic Partnership for Peace and Prosperity."

According to Saudi Press Agency, both sides emphasized the importance of strengthening joint cooperation to implement the summit's outcomes in ways that serve their shared goals, interests, and the aspirations of their people, in addition to exploring opportunities for collaboration across various fields. They also reviewed the latest regional and international developments and exchanged views on these issues.
