GCC Secretary General Highlights Partnership with EU in Meeting with Special Representative for Horn of Africa

MANAMA: In a significant meeting underscoring the growing collaboration between global entities, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi emphasized the importance of the partnership between the GCC and the European Union (EU). This discussion took place during a meeting with the EU Special Representative for the Horn of Africa, Dr. Annette Weber, on the sidelines of the 19th IISS Manama Dialogue.

According to r Saudi Press Agency, the partnership between the GCC and the EU spans various areas, significantly contributing to the mutual interests and goals of both the GCC and European countries. The meeting with Dr. Weber provided an opportunity to delve into several crucial topics, including the cooperation between GCC and EU, particularly in the African Horn.

The discussions between Albudaiwi and Weber focused on areas such as peace, security, climate, and food security. They also covered the political and security developments in the Horn of Africa, the Red Sea region, and the Republic of Sudan. This dialogue highlights the ongoing efforts of the GCC and the EU to address regional challenges and foster stability in strategically important areas.
