GCC Secretary-General Engages in Strategic Talks with Cyprus and DCO Leadership

New york: Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Jasem Albudaiwi held discussions with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Cyprus, Dr. Constantinos Kombos, and the Secretary-General of the Digital Cooperation Organization (DCO), Deemah AlYahya. The meetings occurred on the sidelines of the 80th session of the UN General Assembly.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the discussions centered around enhancing the relationship between the GCC and Cyprus, as well as exploring collaborative opportunities between the GCC and the European Union during Cyprus's upcoming presidency. The meetings also focused on potential cooperative efforts with the DCO to facilitate joint activities in digital transformation and technology.

An agreement was reached to organize the EU-GCC Digital Trade and Investment Forum in collaboration with the Government of Cyprus. This event is scheduled for the first half of 2026, coinciding with Cyprus's presidency of the EU, and aims to foster digital trade and investment dialogue between the regions.
