Riyadh: Flynas, the Saudi Arabian low-cost airline, has entered into a significant agreement with Safran, a leading global manufacturer of aircraft seats, to outfit its upcoming fleet of 60 Airbus A320neo aircraft with the latest-generation seating. This strategic move is set to redefine comfort standards in low-cost aviation.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the agreement was formalized during flynas' participation in the Arabian Travel Market in Dubai, held from April 28 to May 1. The signing ceremony was attended by flynas Chairman Ayed Al Jeaid, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Bander Almohanna, and Safran Seats France Executive Vice President Quentin Munier.
The collaboration focuses on equipping flynas' cabins with specially designed seats that feature smart cushion designs and modern technologies aimed at enhancing passenger comfort. The new economy-class seats are particularly suited for the A320neo's medium- and long-haul flights, which can last up to six hours.
Bander Almohanna highlighted the strategic importance of the partnership, stating, "Through our strategic partnership with Safran, we are preparing to reshape our future cabins with smart designs, stylish features, and next-level technologies." He emphasized that this initiative is part of flynas' growth and expansion strategy, aligned with Saudi Arabia's National Civil Aviation Strategy. The strategy aims to connect the nation with 250 international destinations, accommodate 330 million passengers, and attract 100 million tourists annually by 2030, while also supporting the Pilgrim Experience Program.
Quentin Munier expressed enthusiasm for this first collaboration with flynas, stating that the new Z200 seats will offer advantages to both passengers and the airline. He remarked, "This marks our first collaboration with flynas, and we are delighted to support its operations in the coming years."
Flynas, recognized as the best low-cost carrier in the Middle East and the fourth-best worldwide by Skytrax, views the enhancement of its A320neo fleet as a vital step toward achieving its goal of becoming the world's leading low-cost carrier.
