Riyadh: Minister of Environment, Water and Agriculture Eng. Abdulrahman Alfadley has received the Sports Investment Forum (SIF) plaque, highlighting the importance of sector integration to support sustainability and develop sports as a vital economic sector in line with the goals of the Saudi Vision 2030.
According to Saudi Press Agency, this recognition was part of the preparations for the launch of the SIF, scheduled to be held in Riyadh from April 7 to 9. Alfadley emphasized the forum's significant role in promoting sustainable development, noting that it presents an exceptional opportunity to unify national and international efforts toward investing in sports as a promising sector, which enhances the future of sports and contributes to achieving the goals of the Saudi Vision 2030.
He stated that the ministry seeks to highlight the role of sustainability in developing this key sector, pointing out that its participation includes presenting new insights into the relationship between sports and the environment, as well as discussing projects that support sustainability goals through collaboration with the public and private sectors.
SIF CEO Ibrahim Al-Bakri said that presenting the plaque to the environment minister reflects the importance of strategic partnerships between different sectors in achieving the forum's objectives. He noted that such partnerships help attract local and international investments, particularly due to the forum's esteemed status following Saudi Arabia's announcement as the host of the 2034 FIFA World Cup.
