CST and TRAI Forge Strategic Alliance in Regulatory and Digital Domains

NEW DELHI: The Communications, Space and Technology Commission (CST) and the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) have entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at bolstering cooperation in the regulatory and digital fields. The agreement was finalized on the margins of the ongoing World Telecommunication Standardization Assembly. According to Saudi Press Agency, the MoU was signed by CST Governor Dr. Mohammed Altamimi and TRAI Chairman Anil Kumar Lahoti in the presence of Dr. Chandra Sekhar Pemmasani, Indian Minister of State for Communications. The ceremony marked a significant step towards enhanced collaboration between Saudi Arabia and India in areas critical to digital transformation and regulatory processes. The partnership focuses on the application of regulatory technology (RegTech) and includes conducting joint studies on infrastructure and digital regulation principles. Both parties expressed a mutual interest in exchanging information and transferring knowledge within the ICT sector, leveraging training programs offered by the Digital Regulations Academy (DRA). Additionally, the collaboration aims to strengthen the strategic partnership between the two nations, enhancing cooperation in communications, space, and technology sectors. This initiative is expected to support mutual interests and capitalize on significant growth opportunities in bilateral relations.
