RIYADH – The Royal Institute of Traditional Arts, in collaboration with the Korea National University of the Arts and the Theater and Performing Arts Commission, is set to host a unique Saudi-Korean Culture show. This event, a first of its kind in the Kingdom, will be held at the Princess Noura University Theater in Riyadh from November 26 to 28, 2023.
According to Saudi Press Agency, The Confluence of Culture Show, as reported by the Royal Institute of Traditional Arts, offers an extraordinary artistic experience. Each year, the institute plans to host a different country to showcase and integrate common arts through theatrical performances and art exhibitions.
The show will commence with a narrative of the convergence of Saudi and Korean performers, followed by the presentation of five distinct performing arts from each culture. This aims to enhance cultural and artistic understanding. The finale will feature a performance art piece, blending melodies from both Saudi and Korean traditions with 50 performers from the institute and the Korea National University of Arts' Performance Arts School.
The Saudi performance segment will reflect the Kingdom's cultural diversity, featuring traditional arts like Al-Samri, Al-Daha, Al-Liwa, Al-Khatwa, and Al-Khabiti. Additionally, the event will include an artistic display integrating traditional Saudi and Korean arts into tangible artworks across various crafts such as metals, pottery, woodwork, and hand embroidery.
This cultural fusion show is part of the institute's initiatives to enrich the artistic movement and global cultural exchange in the Kingdom, aligning with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.
