RIYADH: The National Center of Meteorology (NCM) in Saudi Arabia has forecasted heavy thunderstorms today, expected to bring torrential rainfall and strong winds across several regions of the country.

According to r Saudi Press Agency, areas such as Hail, Qassim, and the western parts of Riyadh are likely to experience significant thunderstorm activity. Additionally, Jazan, Asir, Baha, Makkah, and Madinah regions might also witness thunderstorms. Fog formation is anticipated in parts of the Eastern, Riyadh, and Qassim regions, as well as the heights of Asir and Al-Baha.

Maritime conditions are also expected to be affected, with the northern and central parts of the Red Sea experiencing northerly to northwesterly winds at speeds of 18 to 35 km/h. The southern part of the Red Sea is forecasted to have southeasterly to southwesterly winds at similar speeds, accompanied by thunderstorms. The Arabian Gulf will see northwesterly to northeasterly winds at 10 to 20km/h, also accompanied by thunderstorms.
