Saudi Film Festival Sets End of March as Deadline for Submission of Applications

Dammam, 27 March 2022, SPA — The Saudi Film Festival has set the end of March 2022 as the last date for submitting applications for participation in the 8th edition of the festival through its website, which will be held at the King Abdulaziz Center for World Culture in Dammam “Ithra” with the support of the Film Commission, from 2 to 9 June 2022.
Participants in the festival, which will be attended by stakeholders specialized in cinema and its industry locally, Arab, and internationally, will compete in 3 competitions: long films, short films, and the unexecuted scenario. The festival will be accompanied by various events, workshops and seminars specialized in the film industry, in addition to the printing of books specialized in cinematic fields.
In the current edition, the Festival’s management opened the door for Gulf filmmakers to nominate to participate in the “Gulf Film Awards”.
The festival, in its previous seven editions, featured 865 films, and 1,043 unexecuted scripts.

Social Development Bank to Support Entrepreneurs in KSA with More than SAR11 Billion

Riyadh– The Social Development Bank participated in the Global Entrepreneurship Congress (GEC) in Riyadh, organized by the Small and Medium Enterprises General Authority (Monsha’at) in cooperation with the Global Entrepreneurship Network (GEN) under the theme “Reboot, Rethink and Regenerate” from 27 to 30 March 2022.
During its participation in the first day of the event, the Bank announced the allocation of SAR11 billion to finance entrepreneurs in the Kingdom in the next three years, as part of the Bank’s efforts in empowering the Saudi youth and promoting comprehensive national development.
Emanating from the importance of partnerships in advancing the development process, the Bank signed, on the sidelines of the conference, several agreements with various strategic bodies, that aim to provide training, rehabilitation, and sponsorship services to the beneficiaries of male and female entrepreneurs.
The Bank was also keen to initiate effective communication with the guests and visitors of the conference and introduce its services as well as financial and non-financial programs to them, through the bank’s pavilion in the exhibition accompanying the conference.

Mawani, LogiPoint Launch New Logistics Development at Jeddah Port

Riyadh– The Saudi Ports Authority (Mawani), in partnership with internationally recognized and award-winning logistics real estate company LogiPoint (a subsidiary of Saudi Industrial Services Co. – SISCO), will build two new warehousing complexes on a 43,000 square meter site in the Bonded and Re-Export Zone at Jeddah Islamic Port with an investment exceeding SAR150 million. This will enhance the port’s infrastructure and operating capabilities, expand capacity, and enable logistical efficiency. This project represents the first phase in LogiPoint’s ongoing infrastructure development plan worth SAR400 million over the next two (2) years.
Village V is a state-of-the-art multi-purpose 24,500 sq. m. warehousing complex with dedicated zones for handling frozen, chilled, ambient, and dry cargo. Warehouse Village V also introduces a LogiPoint first with a dedicated zone designed and equipped to handle pharmaceutical goods inside Jeddah Islamic Port. Additionally, the Value-Added Zone will enable LogiPoint to extend their time-tested and much-in-demand labelling, re-packing, and consolidation services to their clients, allowing it to operate as a truly transformative logistics hub for the region.
Village VI is a 18,700 sq. m. Built-to-Suit facility which has been designed to the specifications of Aramex, the world’s leading provider of comprehensive logistics and transportation solutions. The company offers its customers innovative services and solutions, including international and domestic express delivery, freight-forwarding, and integrated logistics and supply chain management.
LogiPoint designed the two complexes as per global logistics infrastructure standards and deploys best- in-class green building technologies and practices. Renewable energy will be harnessed to power the facility while LED lighting systems and effective waste management will lower consumption levels and reduce carbon footprint.
The latest projects are set to boost the port’s status as an international logistics center of excellence, which reflects Mawani’s and LogiPoint’s ongoing strategy to position Saudi Arabia as a global logistics hub as per the objectives of the National Transport and Logistics Strategy (NTLS) and Vision 2030.

Deputy Minister of Human Resources for Labor Meets with Tunisian Minister of Employment and Vocational Training

Riyadh– Deputy Minister of Human Resources and Social Development for Labor Dr. Abdullah Abuthnain met here today with Tunisian Minister of Employment and Vocational Training Nasreddine Nsibi.
During the meeting, they reviewed several issues of mutual interest for both countries in the labor field.
The meeting is part of the ministry’s plans to develop its international cooperation and strategic partnerships, in addition to exchanging expertise and experiences between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and other countries.

Saudi Electricity Participates in the Global Entrepreneurship Congress

Riyadh– The Saudi Electricity Company, as a main sponsor, has taken part in the Global Entrepreneurship Congress (GEC), which began in Riyadh today, with the participation of entrepreneurs, investors, experts and decision-makers from 180 countries.
In a statement to Saudi Press Agency (SPA), the CEO of the Saudi Electricity Company Eng. Khaled Al-Qunun, explained that the pavilion highlights the company’s achievements and investment opportunities in the electric power industry.
He added that the company provides more than 250 investment opportunities in the industry, worth SAR13 billion, as well as more than 86 investment opportunities for services worth SAR7 billion.
“The company’s pavilion at the GEC will showcase the new business development sector, which represents the company’s investment arm and aims to increase and diversify revenue in order to achieve Vision 2030,” he affirmed, highlighting the achievements of Innovation Energy Incubator.
