Saudi Dr. Hani Najm Honored with Great Arab Minds Award in Medicine

Washington – Dr. Hani Najm, a Saudi Arabian medical expert, has been awarded the prestigious “Great Arab Minds” award in the field of medicine. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates, and Ruler of Dubai, announced the accolade.

According to Saudi Press Agency, Dr. Najm is recognized for his significant contributions in pediatric and adult cardiac surgery and his surgical innovations in treating congenital heart diseases. Notably, Dr. Najm has contributed to designing a flexible, growth-compatible heart valve for children, which adjusts with their growth, reducing the need for multiple surgeries. He has participated in over 10,000 surgical operations, addressing complex cases in newborns, children, and adults with heart diseases.

Currently leading the Department of Pediatric and Adult Cardiac Surgery at Cleveland Clinic in Ohio, United States, Dr. Najm’s contributions have been pivotal in his field. The ‘Great Arab Minds’ award is a testament to his impactful work, celebrating the most brilliant creative minds in the Arab world across various categories.
